Connect-debounce failed, unable to enumerate USB device
So I had a problem. A really big problem. It looked something like this.
123456 | hub 2-0:1.0: connect-debounce failed, port 1 disabled
hub 2-0:1.0: connect-debounce failed, port 4 disabled
hub 2-0:1.0: connect-debounce failed, port 1 disabled
hub 2-0:1.0: connect-debounce failed, port 4 disabled
hub 7-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 1

Shockingly enough, this problem had a relatively simple solution: Enter the bios, select F9 to reset the BIOS to default configuration, reboot. (I may have introduced some extra variables: shut off laptop and removed battery; booted into windows after resetting the BIOS).
Thank bloody hell for this fix, because as Murphy's law might indicate, this sort of error only comes up when you're less than a week away from a big hardware design project being due.
